In this Role: Summary: This is an administrative professional role reporting to the Director of Early Childhood.
This individual will perform a variety of confidential secretarial tasks that require a high degree of discretion, diplomacy and judgment.
The secretary is responsible for maintaining scholar records as well as assisting the Director with coordination of services at the early childhood building.

Other essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for troubleshooting telephone calls, transportation issues, and direct concerns to appropriate personnel Monitor attendance including student arrivals, dismissal and parent communication Collaborate with food service, hand to hand, and other agencies on applicable food distribution Monitors scholar data, including attendance data, communication logs, and behavior data Maintain personnel inventory with appropriate staff records Working closely with our Special Education Secretary, process preschool and other referrals within the District Works closely with Dean Transportation with transportation needs and changes Supports scheduling of ECSE Developmental Observations Assists our early childhood scholars in programs within the building, including ECSE, GSRP, and Head Start Provides customer service to all stakeholders of programs within the building Assists in the implementation of school policies and procedures to include special education needs Maintains positive, cooperative and mutually respectful relationship with all administrative and instructional staff and community stakeholders Assist with clerical duties such as copying, laminating, and ordering supplies Excellent, reliable and consistent attendance Performs other related duties and responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned This description describes the type and level of work performed by a person assigned to this position.

What You Need: Required Qualifications: Experience in secretarial or related fields desired, preferably in the education environment.
Skills with technology systems, including database software systems.
Ability to perform duties with knowledge of District requirements and policies.
High level of communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with parents, scholars, administration, staff, peers and constituent district staff and the general public in person and in writing.
Ability to meet deadlines, to concentrate and pay close attention to details, ability to organize, prioritize and work independently and cooperatively as well as schedule and produce work in a timely manner.
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure.
Experienced in dealing with personal and confidential information.
