COORDINATOR OF GRASP SUMMER LEARNING Department: Curriculum Unit: Professional and Administrative Exempt Salary: Compensation range listed is based on an average 1-15 years of experience, as determine by Human Resources Grade 104 – Specific salary based on experience Hours: 30 hours a week JOB SUMMARY This position serves as a member of the curriculum department team.
The position is responsible for developing, marketing and distributing online and traditional summer learning materials locally and nationwide, as well as managing daily processes of the office staff.
As the GRASP Director the incumbent is responsible to serve as a liaison between GRASP and Grand Rapids Public Schools curriculum department, manages the GRASP Production and Scoring Center and effectively markets the program.
This position reports to the Director of Curriculum.

Other essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following: Supervise the work of assigned staff.
Manage the GRASP budget.
Responsible for collecting enrollment fees of over $500,00 and processing credit cards, checks, cash, invoices, and fund transfers.
Develop an annual report showing yearly production, income, expenditures, and number of children served.
Develop introductory and ongoing training processes addressing the use of necessary software and office procedures.
Train GRASP assistant and summer staff.
Make decisions relative to the content of raw materials for GRASP packet completion.
Packets contain a grade-level workbook, pencil, scan sheets, self-addressed return envelopes, and instructions for students who review concepts learned during the school year.
Request and review bids and create purchase requests for printing books and other products that go into the GRASP packet.
Determine lowest cost of delivery for GRASP packets which can be a single packet for one student or 30 boxes for a district.
Work with Student Data Systems and Management Information Systems staff to develop and maintain student databases that maintain internal and external student records.
Maintain a working knowledge of all employees collective bargaining agreements.
Hire seasonal and year-long staff.
Work closely as a liaison with the curriculum department to develop and modify a high-quality summer learning experience.
Market summer learning materials district and nationwide.
Develop and implement a detailed communication and marketing plan.
Develop and submit payroll.
Write and update office procedure manuals.
Interact with internal GRASP staff, GRPS district staff, administration, students, parents and districts/schools throughout the U.
S.
in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way.
Initiate and implement new and innovative processes.
Maintain in-person and on-time attendance as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 education.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledgeable of the Michigan curriculum in English language arts and mathematics.
Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Proficient in the use of personal computers including spreadsheets, word processing and database management systems.
Knowledge of accounting requirements for income and expenses.
Proficient accounting/computations skills.
Demonstrated ability to write reports and procedural manuals.
Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of people as well as individuals.
Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to make decision and act independently.
Ability to develop and enact short and long-range plans Ability to foster teamwork and provide training.
Ability to relate well to staff from a diversity of backgrounds and experience.
Demonstrates knowledge and capabilities in technical areas required for job (i.
e.
, financial records, student records, spreadsheets, calendars, e-mail, word processing, payroll reporting, etc.
