LOCATION: Cornerstone University, Grand Rapids, MI
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Carries out all aspects of the program necessary to accomplish the objectives of the sport within the university, the athletic department, WHAC and NAIA contexts
Assists with the recruitment and retention of highly skilled student-athletes
Orients and enforces student-athletes’ adherence to the policies and regulations of the university and athletic department
Assists with coordination of all travel arrangements
Prepares and conducts practices
Administers the off-season training program
Provides special training for individual team members as required
Seeks to build relationships of influence with team members that positively impacts their spiritual and personal growth as followers of Jesus Christ
Other duties may be assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred with successful experience in coaching and/or playing
Good organizational, communication and coordination skill essential
Ability to work well under deadlines and high pressure situations
Ability to recruit student-athletes with potential for academic and athletic success
Represent Cornerstone University in a Christ-like, professional manner to many different internal and external constituencies, consistently exhibits enthusiasm toward the institution
