Cedar Springs Public Schools is seeking qualified applicant for the position of Special Education Assistant assigned to Cedar Trails Elementary in the AM and our Early Childhood Center (ECSE) in the PM.
This paraprofessional position provides support for students with disabilities to be successful in the general education environment.
This position is working one-to-one with two differeent students with special needs; assisting in implementing plans for instruction; monitoring student behavior and providing information to appropriate school personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School graduate
Current CPR Certification or willing to obtain CPR certificate
CPI training certification or willing to obtain CPI certification
Evidence of skills with behavior management
Demonstrates dependability and promptness
Understanding, patient, warm and receptive attitude toward young adults
Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students
Ability to maintain cooperative working relationship with students, staff, parents and the general public with the understanding that confidentiality should be exhibited
