Gymnastics Instructor

*Job Description* *Title:* Gymnastic Instructor *Location:* Greenville Area Recreation & Community Center *Job Summary:* The instructor will teach a variety of gymnastics classes in a positive, safe, educational and fun environment for children ages 2-5 years.
*Primary Responsibilities:* * Develop curriculum and teach class content appropriate to the participants’ ages and abilities for weekly classes.
* Takes proper safety precautions to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all participants.
* Maintains control of class environment while identifying individual needs.
* Comprehension of gymnastics skills and techniques as required by class level.
Ability to demonstrate skills.
* Effectively communicates with participants, parent/guardians, and the general public.
Answer questions effectively and appropriately and/or follow up with participants as necessary.
* Enforce all safety and building rules as well as GARCC policies at all times.
* Complete any necessary forms and reports.
* Hours in addition to regular classes may be required.
* Performs related duties as required.
*Minimum Job Requirements:* * Must be at least 18 years of age and obtained a high school diploma.
* Demonstrated ability to work well with children.
* Ability to teach the development of skills and proper techniques.
Ability to choreograph for performance.
* Ability to work without close supervision, exercising mature judgment and sound decision-making.
* Ability to handle emergency situations (basic first aid) and sensitive and/or confidential information.
* Punctual, hardworking, enthusiasm for working with children, good organizational skills and trustworthy.
* Must pass a background check.
