*SUMMARY*
The Floating Classroom Aide takes direction from Lead Teachers and the Little Lights Program Director to keep classrooms running smoothly.
The Floating Classroom Aide will assist with the supervision of children ages 0-3, and support the center with a variety of other tasks.
interact and develop relationships with children, teaching staff, parents, community partners, volunteers and other community early childhood program peers.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *
Provide support to the Lead Teacher in the following:
· Assist staff by actively supervising and engaging with children of multiple ages in classrooms
· Take initiative to assist children during teacher-led activities and lessons.
Assist teachers with preparation for activities and set up for activities
· Set up food, snacks, assist children with feeding themselves, and clean up after snacks, being mindful of each child’s dietary restrictions
· Cleaning classrooms and common areas
· Work well as a team with other caregivers
· Maintain professional attitude at all times
· Keep accurate records
· Attend mandatory training and meetings as needed
· Keep certifications current (e.
g.
CPR, First Aid)
Other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the center.

*Education and Experience:*
· Valid Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential - *OR - *Willingness to attain a CDA within specified time period *(required)*
· Bi-lingual/Spanish *(preferred)*
· Prior experience working with vulnerable children and families *(preferred)*
*Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:*
· Ability to effectively interact, work, and develop meaningful relationships with people of various cultural backgrounds
· Knowledge and experience assisting in an infant/toddler or preschool program
· Ability to follow safety regulations, practices and procedures
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to meet deadlines
· Basic understanding of Early Childhood Development
· Knowledge of computer web based programs
