Job Overview The Early Childhood Education Assessment intern offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field while contributing to the growth and development of young children in GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program).
The person that fills this position will be expected to take on a caseload of families who have completed ASQ’s for the GSRP program.
They will be expected to follow up and review the results with the families via phone/texting/or email.
They will be expected to provide suggestions on how to improve skill sets and have a basic knowledge of resources in Kent County.
This internship position will receive a $500 stipend to help cover costs related to the internship (food, housing, transportation), and college credit can be earned.
In addition, Family Futures requires all staff and interns to comply with a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
This internship is to be completed in person, not virtual.
This internship will run from May 6, 2024, through August 23, 2024, and will have a mandatory orientation on May 2, 2024 from 9:00am-4:00pm at the Family Futures’ office.
This internship can also be extended into multiple internship periods ending in either December 2024 or April 2025.

Family Futures employees, volunteers, and interns serve as spokespersons and champions of Family Futures in the communities we serve.
A position at Family Futures may entail the following: the use of a personal vehicle, lifting of boxes (roughly 25 lbs.
), as well as attendance of community events outside of regularly scheduled hours.

Roles and Responsibilities Manage a caseload of families who have completed ASQ's (Ages and Stages Questionnaires) for the GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) Thoroughly review ASQ results and interpret findings accurately Engage with caregivers via phone, texting, or email to discuss ASQ results Provide clear and supportive feedback to caregivers, addressing concerns and answering any questions they may have Offer valuable suggestions to families on how to enhance their child's skill sets based on ASQ results Share relevant resources and educational materials to aid in the child's development Possess a foundational understanding of available resources in Kent County related to early childhood education Guide families to appropriate community resources that can support their child's development Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interactions with families Generate reports summarizing progress and outcomes for both internal and external use Required Qualifications Current college student or recent graduate Currently studying Early Childhood Education or a related field in Child Development Familiarity with the Ages and Stages Questionnaires and the ability to review and interpret results Comfortable and effective in communicating with caregivers via phone, texting, and email Strong organizational and documentation skills Basic knowledge of early childhood education resources in Kent County Ability to work at least 15 hours per week Preferred Qualifications Experience in a childcare/school setting.
Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
