SCHOOL INFORMATION NorthPointe Christian Schools is an independent Christian school formed in 1972 serving over 1,200 preschool through high school students from over 120 churches.

” POSITION SUMMARY This is position is in our Big Picture Learning Program, which educates students 3 days a week with project-based learning and 2 days a week with internships in the real world.
The focus is on developing a specific curriculum that meets the needs of each student.
Big Picture Learning serves a variety of students, from high achievers to those needing extra assistance.

org) This is a position for the 2024-2025 school year.
Applicants seeking full-time or part-time employment will be considered.
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Integrate Biblical principles and Scripture into daily teaching.
Teach and support the School’s Foundational Statements and mission through word and deed.
Minister to students through prayer, encouragement, and wise counsel.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for students in accordance with the curriculum goals and policies of NorthPointe Christian Schools.
Learn and implement new curriculum when necessary.
Create and submit daily lesson plans every week.
Plan learning experiences that help each student achieve the stated objectives.
Use class time well with activities that engage students’ attention and have a clear purpose.
Prepare lessons, units, and projects that are suitable to the age level and developmental needs of your students.
Adapt teaching methods, strategies, and materials to meet the needs and learning styles of students.
Create, assign, and grade assessments and assignments for students.
Define responsible Christian behavior for students, including guidelines and consequences for good and bad behavior in the classroom.
Create and model an environment of respect and care.
Help students learn self-discipline through appropriate encouragement, correction, and counseling.
Promote a healthy peer environment among students.
Communicate positively and regularly with parents and guardians about their child’s progress, needs, grades, successes, and challenges via phone call, email, or in person.
Professionally represents the school in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.
Remain professional in attire and behavior.
Set up the classroom and regularly clean and maintain it as a safe and effective learning environment.
Provide supervision to students in the classroom, and hallways.
Follow safety protocols for where students can be and how to secure the building.
Be timely in reporting to work and when at work, assure students are also timely when going to and from specials and other school activities.
Participate in required meetings, school-wide training, and events as requested by the administration and required by the State.
Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
Work constructively with colleagues and administration by building relationships, contributing ideas, listening to the ideas of others, and collaborating to best meet the needs of students.
Collaborate with grade level team in areas such as sharing field trips, lessons, theme ideas, etc.
Collaborate closely with ESS and MTSS teams regarding student needs and interventions.
Participate in a staff committee.
Carry out the procedures and protocols in the employee handbook and respect decisions made by leadership.
Maintain open communication with leadership regarding questions, concerns, and needs.
QUALIFICATIONS Active Christian in agreement with and willing to sign the NorthPointe Christian School’s Foundational statements.
Valid Teaching Certificate.
Bachelor’s Degree, minimum.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Able to pass required background checks and fingerprint screening.
SKILLS Successfully work with a variety of students, individually and in small groups.
Adapt classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans.
Be equipped for a 1:1 MacBook system, well-versed in differentiated instruction and project-based learning.
Adapt to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency.
Exhibit the verbal ability to understand the meaning of words, the ideas associated with them, and the ability to convey them to others clearly using oral expression and comprehension.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physically able to: Frequently stand and sit for extended periods.
Frequently use manual dexterity and/or mobility to grasp and/or manipulate objects, operate equipment, and move around the classroom.

Exert up to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Perform daily repetitive movement of fingers and hands when writing and typing.
Read printed and electronic material daily.
See with clarity objects using close, distant, and peripheral vision.
Sufficiently hear conversations in person and distinguish sounds clearly up to 20 feet.
Must be able to maintain the continuous safety of the students and respond quickly and appropriately to any threat to their well-being.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is a standard classroom, cafeteria, gymnasium, and/or outdoor setting.
The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities.
