1st Grade Surge Aide (Year-Long)

Reports To: Building Principal
Pay Grade: Starting at Grade 1, Step 1, $11.
94 per hour
Schedule: 4 hours per day / 20 hours per week / 8:30am - 12:30pm / 3 days per week (M, Th, F) / Through End of School Year
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to adapt to different instructional environments
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
Experience working with young children (for K-1 support)
Essential Job Functions:
Provide morning and afternoon support to assist kindergarten students with transitioning from morning drop-off to classrooms and from classrooms to afternoon dismissal/pick-up
Communicating the needs of students to classroom teacher
Consistent and reliable attendance
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment).
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate.
Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
