Reports To: Building Principal
Pay Grade: Grade 4, step 1 – starting at $17.
03 per hour
Schedule: To Be Determined or Beginning with the 2024-2025 School Year - 5.
9 hours per day / 29.
5 hours per week / 41-week position
Job Summary: To contribute to the efficient operation of the school and to create and maintain good public relations with students, parents, community and staff by providing administrative support.
Directly support the building principal and staff in the functioning of the school.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school graduate required
Excellent organizational and customer service skills
Previous secretarial experience
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge of Google Suite products
Knowledge of PowerSchool products
Job Functions:
Communicate both orally and in writing efficiently and effectively
Utilize technology to efficiently perform duties
Greet and assist students, staff and families as needed in a positive manner
Work independently with little to no supervision
Handle confidential material with discretion
Attention to detail and accuracy of records required
Maintain files, correspondence, and other communication
Obtain CPR certification
Administer prescribed medication and first aid to students and maintain accurate logs/inventory
Notify parents of student injuries and prepare incident/accident reports
Assist with school events as needed
Enter daily attendance
Assist with and process student enrollment
Prepare data for yearly student count day in partnership with pupil accountant
Maintenance of student files (CA60’s)
Serve as backup to the Head Secretary as needed
Consistent and reliable attendance
Perform any other related duties as assigned
Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Work will be performed primarily indoors but may need to be outdoors infrequently.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, jump, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment).
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

Mental Functions:

In accordance with the Administrative Support Staff Agreement.
