Migrant Legal Aid (MLA) is seeking a full-time bilingual (Spanish) Staff Attorney to provide high-quality legal representation in labor law cases.
MLA's mission is protect the rights of migrant and seasonal farmworkers.
Protections include client rights to optimum health, fair wages and human dignity.

The qualified candidate will have admission to state and federal courts or be immediately admissible to both.
Attorneys currently licensed to practice law in Michigan are strongly preferred.
Must be speak Spanish or show high proficiency.
Previous experience in a professional context with litigation work is preferred.

Duties:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues, especially labor law, worker rights.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions and briefs
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations
- Assist with case management and preparation for trials
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals on complex cases
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice area
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.
D.
) degree from an accredited law school and at least 2 year's experience
- Admission to the state bar association
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software including excel
- Prior experience in a law firm or legal department is required
