*Development Director*
*Job Type:* Full-time, 40 hours per week
*Salary Range:* $75,000-$85,000 Annual

*Goal:*
To develop and implement a successful and comprehensive development program in coordination with the President and Board of Directors and collaborate with the Leadership Team to provide overall direction of the organization.
This position is responsible for the oversight of all annual funds, major gift, grant, capital campaign and planned giving activities and includes identifying, researching, and securing funds available through individuals, foundations, and businesses.
In addition, this position includes managing development staff and committee volunteers.
Qualified candidates will have proven success in managing various volunteer committees and the ability to supervise staff and inspire confidence.
*Essential Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):*
· Work collaboratively with the Board, President, Director of Operations, and/or Development teams to determine annual and long-term resource development objectives.
Create and manage strategic and detailed plans that meet annual and long-term resource development objectives.
· Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and prospective major donors by facilitating meaningful connections and organizing engaging facilities tours.
· Recruit and renew development committee members and ensure they have appropriate tools, training, and support to be effective and efficient in their work on the organization’s behalf.
· Create and provide monthly reports to management on development activities and status.
· Work collaboratively with the Development Coordinator to ensure effective utilization of the donor database, including the efficiency of donor acknowledgment letters and the creation of accurate reports.
· Oversee the direct mail process and editorial calendar to ensure best practices are being met or exceeded.
· Writing, editing, and reviewing all major proposals/grants, monitor proposal deadlines, and provide oversight for proposal follow-up reports.
· Oversee all aspects of two fundraising events each year, the 16 Over 60 Awards Gala and Meet Your Neighbors Luncheon.
Assist in creation of all goals and the annual review of how all events work into the overall development plan and strategy.
· Provide direction and oversight for agency-wide marketing and branding efforts.
· Other duties as assigned.
*Qualifications:*
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
· Previous experience within a development setting of a non-profit organization preferred.
· Strong ability to communicate, both written and verbally, about the organization and its mission.
· Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a team.
· Ability to interact with all levels of constituents including board, donors, community leaders, etc.
· Required skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and general internet functions.
· Some experience with social media and donor databases preferred.
