We are looking for a talented Quality Engineer to join the team on a direct hire basis.
This role presents an exceptional opportunity to be at the forefront of quality assurance within the assembly group, serving as the primary contact for customers and spearheading quality improvement initiatives.
*Responsibilities:*
* Act as the primary quality contact for customers, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly and effectively.
* Lead 8D investigations and manage customer responses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
* Oversee the ISO/TS 16949 Internal Quality System Audit, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
* Participate actively in APQP meetings and Design Review activities, focusing on the molding process to enhance product quality.
* Manage and participate in Layered Process Audits, verifying adherence to quality standards.
* Coordinate and conduct training for production personnel, enhancing their skills and understanding of quality requirements.
* Uphold and promote Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, ensuring a safe workplace.
* Monitor Non-Conforming material, ensuring its timely disposition and minimizing waste.
* Contribute as a key member of the waste reduction and continuous improvement teams, driving efficiency and quality enhancements.
* Collect and report data on key metrics to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.
* Review customer portals daily to stay updated on new and open issues, ensuring swift resolution.
*Qualifications:*
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
* Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within the manufacturing sector.
* Strong knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 standards and experience managing internal audits.
* Proficiency in leading 8D investigations and a solid understanding of APQP and Layered Process Audits.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to serve as a liaison between customers and the production team.
* A proactive approach to training and development, with experience in enhancing team competencies.
*Preferences:*
* Certifications in Quality Management Systems (e.
g.
, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
* Experience with molding processes in a manufacturing setting.
* Demonstrated ability in data analysis and metric reporting.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
