General Description:
The Assembly I - Door Packout position is part of the production crew that assembles interior and exterior doors for commercial use.
Individuals in this assembly position work as part of a team to ensure all sales orders are assembled and packed per schedule.
Essential Duties:
Reads and verifies paperwork, work orders, or work instructions for product accuracy
Verifies quality of material and finished product
Enters production data into computer to update status of work order
Ensures hardware is complete and functional before packaging is complete
Follows documented procedures as well as producing and ensuring product meets or exceeds established product specifications.
Interacts with fellow assembly members to ensure quantity requirements are met
Performs housekeeping and preventative maintenance responsibilities as needed.
Uses care and respect to ensure equipment and/or property is not damaged
Individuals in this position are cross-trained and expected to perform in a variety of Assembly I roles.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, required
Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, required
Previous assembly experience, preferred
Familiarity with custom parts/hardware (“CP”) and its typical applications, preferred
Ability to read and interpret work instructions and work orders in English, required
Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and templates, required
Able to make perform basic math computations, required
Able to read a tape measure and measure product to 1/32
Able to perform basic computer functions related to data entry, output and storage, required

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours
Must be able to repetitively bend, lift, push, pull and twist with product in hand
Must be able to work flexible hours (including over time and weekends) when required to meet customer demands
As a production team member individuals in this role are required to
wear Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) including - safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves, ear plugs and hard hats as needed.
